1. Information We Collect

When you use Statement Pro, we collect the following information:

  • Account information: Your email address and password when you create an account.
  • Uploaded documents: PDF bank statements you upload for conversion. Uploaded files are automatically deleted within 24 hours of processing.
  • Usage data: Page counts and conversion history to manage your subscription tier.
  • Payment information: Processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the Statement Pro service.
  • To process your bank statement conversions.
  • To manage your account and subscription.
  • To send you service-related notifications (e.g., conversion completion emails).
  • To improve and optimize our service.

3. Data Storage and Security

We take the security of your financial data seriously:

  • Uploaded PDF files are automatically deleted from our servers within 24 hours of processing.
  • Transaction data is retained temporarily and auto-deleted based on your plan (30 days for free accounts, 1 year for paid accounts).
  • All data is transmitted over HTTPS encryption.
  • We never log financial transaction details in our application logs.
  • When AI processing is used, statement text is sent to Anthropic's API and is subject to their data retention policy (see Section 4).

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Stripe: For payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
  • Anthropic (Claude AI): For AI-powered transaction extraction. Statement text — including transaction dates, descriptions, amounts, and balances — may be sent to Anthropic's API in the following scenarios:
    • When your bank statement is not recognized by our dedicated parsers (AI fallback)
    • To verify the accuracy of a dedicated parser's output (AI verification)
    • As part of periodic quality spot-checks on parser accuracy

    Anthropic's commercial API policy states they do not use API inputs for model training. Anthropic may retain API data for up to 30 days for trust and safety purposes. See Anthropic's privacy policy for full details.

  • QuickBooks Online / Xero: If you connect an accounting integration, transaction data is sent to these services only when you explicitly initiate a send. These connections use OAuth 2.0 and you can disconnect at any time.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Export your data in a portable format.
